Italians Out to Make Amends for World Cup Absence

The 2018 World Cup was missing a few big nations but perhaps none as big as Italy. The next 12 months are important for the Italians as they look to prove that they are a force to be reckoned with, and they can compete with the best teams around. The UEFA Nations League begins this week, and Italy have a relatively comfortable start at home to Poland, a game they should be winning and will no doubt be trying their best to win after being out of the limelight this summer.

World Cup Champions France Head to Germany for Nations League

The UEFA Nations League kicks off on Thursday night, with the first round of games running from then until next Tuesday. This is an exciting new competition brought in by FIFA to try and put an end to meaningless friendlies where teams have nothing to play for, and where games can often be one-sided. We have nine games scheduled for the opening day on Thursday, and the game between Germany and France is certainly the most interesting and the one that many will want to watch.

Havant and Waterlooville Host Aldershot in Bottom of the Table Battle

We may only be at the beginning of September but the game on Wednesday night between Havant and Waterlooville and Aldershot has huge significance. Both teams have struggled to get going in August, and both are hovering around the relegation zone, Havant are inside, while Aldershot are just one point and one place ahead of them. This is a very big game for both clubs, and over the course of the next month both of these will be looking to kick on,

AFC Fylde Host Star Studded Salford City in National League

Salford City have been one of the biggest names in non-league football for the past few seasons, working their way up the ranks thanks to investment from a famous group of old Manchester United football players. The group, including both Neville brothers, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes have put good money into Salford with the hope of reaching the football league. They are one step away now, although the National League is very hard to get out of,

Super Six for England as they ease past Panama
What is the UEFA Nations League?

This week sees the start of the newly formed UEFA Nations League, which will see a new form of football played by international teams. The whole shake up has been designed to cut out pointless and meaningless friendlies, and replace them with competitive games that have the potential to mean something to the teams taking part. Fans of international football are not interested in friendly games, and hopefully this move will make the games far more appealing to people across Europe.

Are England Fans the Best Fans in the World
England Aim To Utilise World Cup Momentum

We all suffered from something of a ‘World Cup hangover’ after what happened in the summer, at least, that applies if you’re English. Gareth Southgate’s men came to within touching distance of achieving something that few thought possible, with England going all the way to the World Cup semi-finals in Russia. While some will argue that they had a favourable path you can only beat what’s put in front of you, and the English did that en-route to their joint second best finish in the history of the tournament.

Manchester United Can Ease to First Friendly Victory
Burnley & Manchester United Face Huge Local Derby

English football can be a tricky thing to work around, especially when you compete in the Premier League. It’s considered to be one of the most competitive leagues in the world, both in terms of its entertainment factor and how difficult it is to find consistency. We’ve seen big teams falter and we’ve seen surprise results for over 25 years now, so you’d think nothing would surprise us. While that’s true that doesn’t mean we don’t still get incredibly amped up to see two notable teams go against one another,

Expect Goals in King Power Clash Between Leicester and Liverpool

Both Leicester and Liverpool will be happy with their start to the season, and this clash between the two of them on Saturday should be a good test for both. The bookmakers make Liverpool strong favourites here and while I agree they should be favourites for the game, the price on offer is very poor. Leicester have impressed so far this season, their only defeat came away at Old Trafford on the opening day of the season and since then they have won twice.

Top Two Clash in Championship Thriller on Friday

It is very rare we get a big game in August, but on Friday night when Leeds and Middlesbrough clash at Elland Road, the game will certainly have a special feel to it. Both teams are considered as potential promotion candidates, so it is no surprise to see them start as well as they have done. However, now they come up against each other and put their unbeaten runs on the line. Both have played five Championship games,

Can Burnley Turn Around Europa League Deficit?

I doubt many people would have believed this if you had told them two or three years ago, but Burnley are one game away from making it through to the Europa League group stages. The team standing between them and what would be a huge moment for the club is Olympiakos, and to make things worse Burnley are trailing 3-1 from the first leg in Greece. They are far from out of it, and have an important away goal on their side,

Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest to add Further Misery to Newcastle

If you wanted a game between two completely contrasting teams right now then these two can certainly offer it. At Nottingham Forest the goal is simple, the reach the Premier League, and they are spending money to give themselves the best chance of doing that. When it comes to Newcastle, I don’t really think anyone knows what the goal is, but one thing is for sure, they are not doing anything much to progress at the moment,

AFC Wimbledon to Cause Cup Upset against West Ham

The Carabao Cup doesn’t have the same excitement surrounding it as the FA Cup, but there is still the chance that we will see big shocks and on Tuesday night, it could be the turn of AFC Wimbledon. The Dons take on their Premier League opponents at exactly the right time, and this one looks primed to be an upset.

It has to be said that AFC Wimbledon are not playing too well themselves at the moment in League One,
