Manchester United Value to Build on Good Premier League Effort

The start to this season has been far from easy for Manchester United, as has been well documented all over the world. However, one thing they deserve a lot of credit for is their improved performance against Liverpool on Sunday. Fans will be hoping that is them turning the corner and as far as their Europa League game on Thursday goes, I certainly hope it is.

United only drew that game 1-1 but should really have won it. There is no doubt that Liverpool were far from their best, but that shouldn’t take away from how much better Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team played.

To really get back on track they have to produce that kind of level on a regular basis though, something I think they will do on Thursday. Although when they head to Partizan Belgrade this week it will be a tough environment to play in, if they can put a performance together then there is no doubt they are the better team in this tie.

After a win over Astana and a draw with AZ Alkmaar, United are unbeaten in the Europa League and are currently second in the table with four points. That is the same total as leaders Partizan Belgrade, who are ahead on goals scored only, giving United the chance to strike and move top with a win here.

Not the easiest of away trips for Manchester United, but a perfect chance for them to build on what they achieved at the weekend when they drew at home to Liverpool. This United team is not the force of old, but they are still better than Partizan Belgrade and I am happy to back them on Thursday night when they take to the road.

There is still a long way to go for them, but after a solid point at home against a title contender and the chance to move to the top of their Europa League group here, things could look a lot better at full time on Thursday.
