Manchester United Battle Arsenal On Monday Night Football
We’ve had a fantastic weekend of Premier League action, and with the summer officially being in the rear view mirror, it’s time for the world to feast their eyes upon what England’s top tier has to offer. Today, we’re going to be taking a look at a very special game between two of the primary contenders to finish the season in the top four as Manchester United host Arsenal at Old Trafford. The two old rivals will square off on Monday Night Football, with both getting ready for a busy week that will include another venture into the Europa League.
Manchester United’s last six game stretch began with a fairly embarrassing defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace, piling even more pressure onto the shoulders of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. They then drew 1-1 with Southampton before edging past Leicester with a nice 1-0 victory, following that up with another 1-0 triumph – this time over Astana. They went on to lose 2-0 to West Ham United, and then in the Carabao Cup, they required penalties to get past Rochdale. In terms of team news, Pogba is a doubt with an ankle problem with Greenwood being set to start with Martial and Rashford being doubtful.
Arsenal’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool wasn’t exactly a heartbreaking one, and their 2-2 comeback draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby was admirable. However, a 2-2 draw with Watford after being 2-0 up certainly brought them back down to earth. Since then they’ve strung together three wins in three different competitions, beating Eintracht Frankfurt, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest – scoring 11 goals in the process. Tierney is touch and go to start against Manchester United, with Saka and Nelson competing for a place in the starting XI. Maitland-Niles is available for selection, but so is a rejuvenated Calum Chambers.
Manchester United vs Arsenal Betting Prediction
Both sides have the quality necessary to break into the top four, but when you see teams like Leicester, West Ham, Chelsea & Tottenham at their peak, it sure does put into perspective just how much work needs to be done by both United and Arsenal. We can see this game ending in a relatively uneventful draw, with our scoreline prediction being either 0-0 or 1-1. Neither team will be able to build all too much confidence for themselves from that, but if nothing else, we’ll get to see what kind of a stance they’ll take in a game of this magnitude.
