Manchester United began their Premier League title challenge with a win at home to Leicester City last weekend. They have a lot of hard work ahead of them if they are to challenge their rivals Manchester City, but started well enough and they have the chance to build on that this Sunday. The Red Devils travel down south to take on Brighton, a team who could well find themselves in a relegation battle this season after avoiding the drop in their first Premier League campaign last season.

While The Red Devils did add players during the summer, they failed to land a top class central defender which was their main aim. Whether it was them not finding one they were 100% happy with, or them not being prepared to fund what was required is unknown, but adding a defender would certainly have helped their title challenge. Instead they have to move forward with the defensive players they have, and possibly address the situation again in January. While fans may worry about the lack of a signing when they face the top teams and when they play in Europe, that shouldn’t stop them from winning games like this one on Sunday.

Brighton did well to avoid the drop last season when they were favourties with the bookmakers to finish bottom of the league. However, they did struggle in parts and have failed to make any big changes to stop that from happening again this season. They were beaten on the opening day by Watford and not only that but they put in quite a disappointing performance during that game. Not only on Sunday against Manchester United, but in general, Brighton are going to have to perform a lot better if they want to survive in the Premier League for a second season.

Brighton vs Manchester United Betting Tips

When you compare these two teams on paper there is no doubt that The Red Devils are far suprerior. United have an abundance of quality in comparison to Brighton and they can make that count here. There may be doubts about United’s defensive abilities and how they match up to the other teams at the top of the Premier League, but in comparison to Brighton who look likely to struggle, there should only be one winner here.

Although they are away from home, I am expecting to see United control this game and have a lot of the ball right from the kick off. They can use their midfield superiority to keep control of things and they have enough creativity in their ranks to be able to find a way past Brighton’s defence.

I’m sure the home fans will do their best to help their team cause an upset here but I just don’t see it happening. I am backing a convincing United win on Sunday as they look to make it two league wins out of two and show the rest of the title challengers that they are going to be involved at the end of the season.
