Rangers to Progress with Another Win

A home game against Midtjylland stands in the way of Rangers and progression to the final qualifying round for the Europa League. They have been impressive in the competition so far and have every chance of making it through to the group stages. They hold a vital advantage coming back home for this second leg as they won the first game 4-2 away from home, and that can be enough for them to not only win the tie, but to also win on the night.

Being two goals down and conceding four away goals, Midtjylland have no option but to attack Rangers right from the off and that is going to play into the hands of the Scottish side. They can mop up the pressure on them and use their pace to counter attack and put this game to bed.

We saw in the first game that while Midtjylland deserve respect for getting this far, when Rangers are playing at the top of their game the Danish side simply cannot handle them. If they are to get anything from this then not only do they have to massively improve on their performance from the first leg but they also have to hope that Rangers are having a big off day and in front of their home fans at Ibrox, with the group stages of this competition edging closer, I just can’t see that happening myself.

This is a golden opportunity for them to get through, and one I think they are going to take. Just one team will stand in their way of a group stage spot after this game, and with the way they have played so far in this competition, do not be at all surprised to see Rangers in the hat when the draw comes around.

This is a massive opportunity for Rangers and to a certain extent the hard work has been done. This isn’t over yet, but by coming home with a two goal lead and scoring four away goals, they have given themselves a fantastic platform to play on.

The Danes have no choice but to attack from the off, but they don’t have the quality to keep up with Rangers all night, and gaps will be available at the back. I really fancy Rangers to take advantage of these and win on the night to reach the final round of Europa League qualifying.
