This isn’t the kind of tournament that is going to blow the minds of too many Premier League fans, but even with that being the case, it gives a lot of fans the opportunity to take in some high quality lower league football. Today, we’re going to take a look at what should be an intriguing clash of styles between Forest Green Rovers and Coventry City down in Gloucestershire.

In their last six games, Forest Green have continued to prove themselves as one of the leading contenders for promotion in the fourth tier. Their last six game stretch began with a 1-0 win over Cambridge United, before they narrowly made their way past Colchester United by the same scoreline. In their last outing they were battered 4-0 by Rotherham United, leaving many fans to wonder whether or not they’re ready for a sustained run for promotion this season. Both teams are in a rich vein of form, but with Coventry having never beaten Forest Green in their three previous games, it just feels like they aren’t going to have enough to get over the finish line in this one. While both are going to be focused on a potential promotion push, Forest Green seem to be more composed under pressure – and while some would argue there’s no pressure attached to this situation, we’re still backing the home side to get the win.
