Liverpool to Gain Revenge for Midweek Defeat against Chelsea

It was Chelsea who took the first game between these two in midweek when they went away to Anfield and picked up a 2-1 victory. They drew first blood in the Carabao Cup, but it is this game that is the most important fixture out of the two, in the Premier League. Liverpool are the only team to have won every game so far this season, while Chelsea lost their 100% record last weekend when they drew 0-0 away at West Ham.

We saw both teams field weakened teams in the game that took place on Wednesdsay, but you can expect to see all the big names out on the field in this one. One player that did play and grabbed all the headlines on Wednesday night was Eden Hazard. He scored a wonderful goal to win the game, showing off his great solo skills before firing the ball into the back of the net. He will play again this weekend, and Chelsea fans will be hoping to see even more from him, and hopefully another game winner.

Hazard vs Salah

The headlines in this game are all going to be grabbed by these two players in the build up to the game. They are both fantastic players, and the heartbeat of their respective teams. When they play well, so does their team, and when their team needs a big moment it is usually one of these two who steps up to deliver.

While Hazard plays a little deeper than Salah, both players are known for their goal scoring. We saw Hazard at his very best on Wednesday night and while it was a big surprise to see him play in the game, Chelsea fans will have been glad he was there to guide them to victory.

The game on Saturday evening could once again be decided by one of these two players, and while both will try and be stopped by their opposing defenders, more often than not these two find a way to have an impact on the game. It would be foolish to dismiss the other attacking forces that are going to play in this game, but this game looks like it could be settled between these two stars.

Will Liverpool’s Defence Win them the Premier League Title?

We could sit here and talk about all day about how good the Liverpool attacking line is, and how many goals they are going to score this season. However, as good as they are, and as many goals as they score, is it the changes that Liverpool have made defensively that is the thing to win them the league title this season?

Liverpoool have brought in two key players over the past 12 months, Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson. Both of them came in for transfer record fees for their position, Van Dijk became the most expensive defender and Alisson became the most expensive goalkeeper. It was a lot of money to spend, especially on two defensive players, but these two could end up being the most important players at Liverpool as we go through the season.

Van Dijk is a quality defender and he has brought that to Liverpool, settling into his role at the club but it is everything else that he brings which has seen Liverpool improve so much. He is a leader on the backline, and he is the person organising everything on the field. He is coming into his prime right now and for the next few years, Liverpool are going to have the best of Van Dijk, and he looks more than capable of leading them to a Premier League title.

Impressive Start for Chelsea New Boss Sarri

When Chelsea announced the arrival of new manager Maurizio Sarri he wasn’t given too much time to work with his new players. Many of them were competing in the World Cup, and after that finished those players were given an extended break to rest before the start of the season. Due to this, he didn’t have many players available to him to train and play in their pre-season games, meaning they didn’t have time to settle and learn his system.

Despite that, this has been a very impressive start by Chelsea and they should be thrilled with where they are in the standings right now. Had they started slowly, the circumstances surrounding their summer would have given them an understandable excuse.

While we may have to wait another season or two until Chelsea are back in the mix for the Premier League title, fans should be very encouraged by what they have seen this season. With the addition of a few players and more time to learn and perfect the system that Sarri wants to play, it would seem possible that that can challenge once again in the near future.

Chelsea vs Liverpool Betting Tips

The second meeting between these two in four days and by far the most important one. Liverpool head to Stamford Bridge with their 100% record under their belt, can they maintain it? I believe they can, and will be backing them to win this game.

Although Chelsea won the first meeting, this was a game between much changed teams and on Saturday we will see the full strength teams go head to head. When they have all of their best players available to them, I think it is Liverpool who have the quality advantage. This is especially noticeable when you compare the two defensive line ups, Liverpool look strong and solid in defence, much more so than Chelsea.

In attack, both teams certainly have match winners and these players will be called upon to try and win them the game. Look out for Eden Hazard and Mo Salah, both are seen as the ‘go to’ player for their team when they need a spark to bring them to life. We have seen Hazard win one game already for Chelsea this week, he is more than capable of doing it again, but I don’t think it will.

A combination of fantastic defensive play from the likes of Virgil Van Dijk and goos goalkeeping from Alisson can help Liverpool win this game. Someone will need to take a chance, that could be Salah or someone else, but there is plenty of players in the line up who can score goals.

This should be another fantastic game of football to watch as two top teams go head to head but I am going to side with Liverpool to win this one and gain revenge for Wednesday’s defeat while also keeping their 100% winning record in the Premier League.
