FC Can Win the Battle of Los Angeles

Everyone loves a local derby and the fans in Los Angeles get their derby game on Friday when Los Angeles FC take on the LA Galaxy in a game known by the fans as El Trafico. This is one of the most fascinating derbies out there at the moment, and puts together two very different franchises.

The Galaxy are one of the most recognisible names in American soccer, they have a huge fan base behind them, and tales from the past when the likes of David Beckham took to the field for them. However, their team this season is not at the same level as what we have seen in the past, and we are now seeing Los Angeles FC challenge them. The new kids on the block are still in their first MLS season, but they have done nothing but impress both on and off the field and appear to be a very good addition to the league.

That game should have been wrapped up when they were 3-0 ahead, but they fell into the trap of thinking the game was over, when it certainly wasn’t. This points towards a win for Los Angeles FC, who have impressed throughout their first season in the MLS and can continue that here. They will see FC Dallas are just four points ahead in the Western Conference rankings and will have them in their sights. Picking up the points here will give them a chance to do so over the coming games.
