Everton a Solid Bet to Beat Newcastle

On Sunday, Everton suffered last minute heartbreak at the hands of their close rivals Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby. They played very well against a better team, and had their own chances to win the game. However, it wasn’t to be for them, and despite playing with a huge amount of spirit, they were beaten 1-0 and left with nothing at the end of the game. On Wednesday night they return to action quickly due to the midweek Premier League fixtures, and they host Newcastle in a game that looks to be the perfect opportunity for them to bounce back from misery.

Newcastle are another team that needs to bounce back this week, although travelling away to face Everton means that their task is much harder. The Magpies had won three in a row before their game against West Ham on Saturday, but all that came crashing down when they were beaten 3-0 at home by The Hammers. The good news for Newcastle is that their run of three victories pulled them slightly away from the relegation zone, though they are still only three points ahead of the bottom three.

Both teams are fighting at opposite ends of the table right now, though both need to pick up three points and bounce back from a tough weekend for them. There has been a lot of talk surrounding Newcastle with upset amongst the fans and the manager Rafa Benitez not showing too many signs he is happy with the way things are being run behind the scenes. This can only mean trouble in the long run, and Newcastle are far from safe right now, anything that takes their mind off things on the field is only going to make things a lot worse for them going forward.

Everton Attacking Instinct a Joy to Watch in Merseyside Derby

Other than the result of the game, which is obviously the most important thing, Everton fans will have been thrilled with everything else from their game against Liverpool on Sunday. The biggest thing for neutrals was that they went to Anfield and they attacked. Everton did everything they could to play to their strengths, rather than taking the negative option and doing all they could to prevent Liverpool from playing to theirs. The last minute winner for Liverpool was not what the game deserved, and Everton should feel really hard done by with what went off.

During the first half of the game in particular, Everton not only held their own against their rivals, but they had chances to go ahead in the game. On another day we could easily have seen Everton scoring at least twice in this game, they have to work on taking their chances but the good news is that they are creating them. Not only that, but they are creating them against a defence that has proven to be one of the best in the league.

While the loss will hurt them, how they bounce back is certainly something to watch out for, and something that I think they are going to do well here in this game. Teams can choose to either think about what has happened, and dwell on it, or they move on with their heads high and they put things right. It is the second option I thinkn Everton will take here, they appear to have good confidence in their ability, and morale seems high. This will knock them, but I don’t envisage them having any problems coming out of the other side.

Do Off-Field Problems Spell Danger for Newcastle?

If you take a look at the squad that Newcastle have, and the manager in charge of them then they are good enough to stay in the Premier League. Things may not be as good as fans expect from a team the size of theirs, but relegation shouldn’t be an issue for The Magpies. However, despite them winning three games in a row recently, Newcastle are just three points ahead of the relegation zone as we enter what is going to be a very busy period for Premier League teams.

One thing that continues to weigh down Newcastle is their off-field problems. These have forced them struggle, publically fall out and divide into three groups. The fans are not happy with the owner Mike Ashley, and neither is manager Rafa Benitez, who wants to see more from Ashley in terms of investment, just like the fans do.

While ever this is happening, those who are in charge of this football club are focusing on other things instead of the task at hand, which is improving the league position of this team. It is a very dangerous game to take your eye off the ball in the Premier League, and something that Newcastle really cannot afford to do over the coming weeks. A lot of big points are at stake, and they need all they can get from the games.

Everton vs Newcastle Betting Tips

Both teams come here on the back of a disappointment, but Everton played brilliantly well in their game against Liverpool, the same cannot be said about Newcastle against West Ham. We have seen Newcastle win three in a row, but they are now back to struggling like they were before.

Everton come here on the back of a bad result, but a fantastic performance and the result here rests on how they bounce back from that experience. I think they are going to bounce back in good fashion, they have a strong core at the club that helps morale remain up, and they will know how well they played on Sunday, and how unlucky they were. For Everton, this game is all about putting things right, and getting three points on the board that they deserve. I think they will do that, and I am backing them to do so against a poor Newcastle team.

The month of December is an important one for pretty much every team in the Premier League. Everton are going to bounce back here and move forward with a spring in their step, while Newcastle have turned back into the team we saw earlier this season recently, and if they lose here they will have lost their first two games of the month. With off-field problems hanging over them on top of this, the month of December could be an uncomfortable one for Rafa Benitez and his players.

I am backing an Everton victory here, following up on their performance from the weekend which was very impressive.
