DC United Tackle Orlando City In MLS Showdown

The MLS season has been in full swing for a while now, giving fans of European football the chance to sample the American style of play. Some people like it and others don’t, and that’s pretty understandable. Of course, the superstar names often draw the most attention in Major League Soccer, but there’s a lot of homegrown talent coming through the ranks that should make USMNT fans feel pretty excited about the future. Today we’re going to be taking a look at DC United vs Orlando City, in a game which pits together two sides in very different positions.

DC United’s fall from grace has been an enjoyable thing to watch for their rivals, but neutrals are probably just eager to see them bounce back – which, surely, will happen sooner rather than later. They kicked off their last six game run with a 1-0 win over Sporting KC on May 13, which wound up being their last win to date. They went on to draw 0-0 with Toronto before a narrow 2-1 defeat against Houston, and since then, they’ve been involved in three really entertaining draws against New England, Chicago and San Jose.

Orlando’s run has been in some ways better, and in other ways worse. They went on a three game losing streak against Toronto, Atlanta and Seattle, only scoring one goal in that timeframe. Still, they weren’t blown out of the water by any stretch of the imagination, and they actually came back fighting in their next game as they dismantled FC Cincinnati 5-1. They went on to lose 1-0 to LA Galaxy in a tight game, and then in their last encounter, they trounced Montreal 3-0 to prove once and for all that you really can never tell what’s going to happen in the MLS.

DC United vs Orlando Betting Prediction

Orlando have certainly been in better form that DC over the course of the last few weeks, and there’s really no way of getting around that. Even with that being said, though, it feels like there’s a gulf in class and quality that they just won’t be able to overcome here. DC have been struggling but it’s not like they’ve been struggling to put the ball in the back of the net along the way, and we can see them getting an early goal before setting up shop in this one. That may not be how it goes down, but either way, we should be in for an intriguing clash.
