Brazil Fancied to Build on Strong Copa America Start

Brazil are strongly fancied to win the Copa America this year as hosts and perhaps one of the few things that could beat them in this tournament is not handling the pressure that is on them. After the first game, while it wasn’t perfect, I am expecting to see them settle better and show their real class when they come up against Venezuela on Tuesday night.

The hosts went off to boos after a goalless first half against Bolivia on the opening night, but soon put that right in the second half. Three goals, including two in three minutes from Phillipe Coutinho was enough to ease them past and begin to make up for their slightly slow start. It was all smiles and cheers at the end of the game, something I think we will see more of in this one.

Venezuela got off to a 0-0 draw against Peru, a game in which they defended pretty well but failed to get any kind of grip on the game and show their attacking ability. I expect they will suffer from the same here, with their time on the ball likely to be kept to a minimum by the Brazilians.

I am sure they will be doing all they can to keep things tight and keep their opponents out, and of course if that takes up the first half then we can expect to hear the boos ring out once again for the host nation. Their fans will quickly get on their backs if things are not going to plan. This Brazil team is not only expected to win this tournament, but it is also expected to put on a great show for those in attendance.

Brazil vs Venezuela Betting Tips

A chance for Brazil to show their strength over the course of 90 minutes, and now that the first game is over and done with, I think we will see them look a lot more relaxed and settled here. Assuming that is the case, this is going to be a comfortable victory for them I think, they have more than enough to score multiple goals against Venezuela, while we saw little from the Venezuelans to suggest they are capable of scoring in their opening game.

To add a little value I will be backing Brazil on the -1 handicap line, with a repeat of the 3-0 score line from the first game looking like it could be repeated here.
